A Trip to the Hospital

So since I got here my little finger has been a little mangled. I dislocated/broke it before leaving the UK but it didn't set properly so it's now kinda crooked. Anyway I finally got around to making an appointment at the local Hospital and getting it looked at.

I have spent the last couple of weeks banging on about how great the service is here in Thailand but today it was less impressive. I made my appointment via email to see the Orthopedic Doctor at 5:30, which last time meant I walked in and got seen straight away - but tonight I had to wait for half an hour and then the doctor finaly saw me.

He spent all of two minutes looking at the finger and bending it a little before making a new appointment for me to see the specialist (even though that's what I though I was doing today!) for next Monday - the only upside of today's visit was there wasn't a charge..... although I'm sure they'll make up for that next time!

A New Look for learn.jacksonhq.com

learn.jacksonhq.com is my teaching blog. I've been writing it on and off for a couple of years and have finally decided to take it a little more seriously.

With this in mind I have been spending quite a lot of my spare time learning how to style WordPress. I have taken a template that was similar to this site and adapted it so that it looks pretty much the same. I have intentionally kept the font choices different.

This was quite a learning process and I have leant a fair bit about CSS and PHP in the process. I was pleased with how it has all turned out. It also led to me adding my Flickr stream to the bottom of this site using an RSS parser and more PHP which I'm pretty pleased about. As easy as it is there is little information to help you online so at somepoint intend to write a short guide myself!
